Co-owned and operated by David Erickson and Stephen Vittitow, the Blind Pig Establishments have relatively quickly become a staple of Bardstown, Kentucky.

Stephen is a semi-retired Registered Nurse with a long 35 year extensive Nursing history. Born and raised in Bardstown, Stephen has a long liquor history that started when his father (rumor has it) became well versed in “moonshine makin” which supplied him and his uncle’s “under the table” bar.

David is a “brought in” from Minnesota with a business and medical history along with ironically a connection to bourbon via his grandfather who serviced South Dakota bootlegger’s vehicles in order to move moonshine to the South.

David and his interest in bourbon quickly encouraged Stephen to join him in acquiring a bourbon related business that he had been working for; thus, The Blind Pig Bourbon Market (bourbon specialty store) fell into their laps and quickly became very successful. This was followed by probably the most talked about venture The Blind Pig Bourbon Speakeasy. The Speakeasy had such a terrific great run beginning in 2018, that The Blind Pig Bourbon B&B was born in (August 2020) which completed the THREE “Bourbon” BLIND PIG of Bardstown experience. But, of course, David and Stephen’s love of change and entrepreneurship and exploration led them to change, yet again the business structure. Thus the CLOSING of the Speakeasy (March 2022) and the B&B (April 2023) occurred but was substituted quickly with the Opening in (Jan. 2022) of their newest venture The Blind Boar Shanty (The Blind Pig’s rebellious HYBRID cousin) described as a men’s speciality clothing boutique and MORE (finer white liquor -gin-rum-tequila) and wine” plus a large retail/merchandise mix (Something for EVERYONE).
